Following practical trials of the K9 prototype, Karmin developed modular designs to address a wider range of missions. The K92 and K85 were developed from that platform in two different sizes.
Development of the K92 was completed in 2008. It won an international tender in Southeast Asia, and eight boats were produced for counterterrorism, antipiracy and antihijacking duties.
